Recent Intakes:
We are seeing the products of kitten season and have taken in several adorable tiny felines. Fortunately, many have already found their forever homes!
Our new friends still up for adoption include Stephanie, Skylark, Mercedes, and Porche. All but Miss Stephanie (age 2) are kittens and ALL of them are adorable and anxiously awaiting their new families!
Doyle and Miss Lippy are new friends who joined us as well! Patches and her babies were also new additions to the rescue. She will care for her babies for awhile before they will be ready for adoption.
Also, the beautiful Pasha joined the Dog Sanctuary in June. She is from the Twin Cities and is a senior lady who is now enjoying the slower pace of country life.
Recent Adoptions:
We had many little friends from our 2025 Kitten Class who were adopted: Prius, Volkswagon, Prius, Chevrolet, Jetta, and Spark.
In addition, fan-favorite Tobias also went home to the family he has always dreamed of. He is so happy to have his very own kid to snuggle and play with!
Tippy is a sweet little guy who found his forever home with a vet who specializes in neurology and can give him specialized care at home.
Mick is one happy camper with his brand new family who loves him so very much! Thank you to his family for updating us on how he's settling into his new life.

News:
The summer has been a whirlwind!
We participated in the Fertile Library’s Event, The Parking Lot Petting Zoo.
Fertile’s City-Wide Rummage Sales were held during the Car Show, and our friend Stacey Altepeter graciously hosted a rummage sale whose proceeds, $563(!), went to the Rescue. Thank you, Stacey!
We attended the Blue Cross Blue Shield Pet Social along with 4 Luv of Dog Rescue from Fargo.
Kuranda’s Pet of the Month Contest allowed us to win 5 Kuranda dog beds. Thank you to all who voted!
Jess at Stitch54 upgraded our pet pantry with some beautiful new lettering. Thank you, Jess!
We did outreach and education at the Polk County Fair all five days.
A group of kind young people from our community set up a lemonade stand in front of the store front and donated all their proceeds!
Upcoming Events:
We are excited to announce our Grand Opening Event at the storefront in Fertile! We will have an open house from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025. Please come and meet our adoptable animals, our director and volunteers, and representatives from some of our community partners: A.P. Grooming, East Polk Canine Kennels, and Get Your Fix Surgical Center.
Pet Spotlight:
The beautiful Buttons has been waiting for her forever family since December of last year. She gets along with everyone: cats, kids, dogs, you name it! She loves to snuggle and hang out with her foster people. She has no health issues, is spayed and up to date on her vaccines. Buttons is ready when you are!
