Pet Spotlight:
Dwight Jr.
This fellow is the sweetest soul. He loves everyone, is great with kids, cats, and dogs (big and small). He would thrive with a family or a couple, or would be the most personable company for someone living alone. Please consider giving Dwight, Jr. a home!

Education: Cats
Cats are fascinating creatures with many unique and surprising traits. Here are a few fun facts:
Sleep: Cats are renowned for their sleepiness, often napping for 16-18 hours a day.
Vocalization: Cats possess a vast array of vocalizations, with research suggesting they can make over 100 different sounds.
Night Vision: Cats have excellent night vision, allowing them to see in low light conditions.
Jumping Ability: Cats are incredible jumpers, able to leap up to six times their height.
Taste: Cats are believed to be the only mammals who don't taste sweetness.
Whiskers: Cats use their whiskers to judge if they can fit through a space.
Ear Muscles: Cats have 32 ear muscles, allowing them to rotate their ears 180 degrees.
Ancient Egyptians: Cats were revered in ancient Egypt, even being worshiped as gods.
Unique Nose Print: Just like humans have unique fingerprints, each cat has a unique nose print.
Purrs: Cats purr at a specific frequency, which can help soothe pain and promote healing.

Pet Fact of the Month:
Cats mark their owners as possessions. They have scent glands in their cheeks, paws and flanks. When they rub against their human with it, they leave a message for other cats that they have claimed their owners. https://www.four-paws.org/campaigns-topics/topics/companion-animals/10-facts-about-cats
